It’s Science majors week!

As a first year student, you are invited to confirm or change your BSc major, or discuss your options with an advisor.

Confirming your major(s) early is essential, as it ensures you are on the right path to completing your degree on time and with the subject areas that meet your goals.

If you’re unsure about which major to confirm, this is your opportunity to come in to the Science Student Centre and discuss your options with an advisor.

By discussing this with one of our advisors, you will be able to make an informed decision that will help shape your future!

Step 1 | Understanding your majors options

Browse through the BSc undergraduate subject pages and degree planners to ensure you are prepared.

Please note: students who commenced their studies in 2018 should view the requirements ‘‘for students enrolled prior to 2019’.

Step 2 | Need more specialist advice?

For specific academic advice, please see the Undergraduate advisers by department page.

Step 3 | Career direction workshop

Not sure if you are going in the right direction? Why not book in to our career direction workshop on Monday 17 September?

It runs from 1-2pm in KEIC 315-101 (Level 1).

Login to MyCDES to book your place.

Step 4 | Completing the task in Student Services Online

  1. Log in to Student Services Online (SSO).
  2. In your SSO dashboard, you will see an incomplete item in your ‘to-do list’.
  3. Click on this item and you will be taken to the Science majors week task.
  4. To complete in this task, you need to choose one of three options:
    • I confirm my current major(s)
    • I want to change my major(s)
    • I am undecided
  5. If you are undecided, you will be prompted to indicate a time that best suits your schedule to chat with an advisor about your next steps to confirm you major.
  6. You may drop in for your 15-20 minute session during the window that you booked.  This scheduling tool will be available for you to use from 14-21 September.
