This is an incredible opportunity as you begin to look towards starting your careers in biosecurity and biodiversity.  The Ministry for Primary Industries is holding a Marine Think Tank as part of the work to implement the Biosecurity 2025 strategy

They want you to play a role in developing a national marine biosecurity strategy along with NIWA, Regional Councils, Cawthron Institute and others.

Starting with lunch, you will be taken through how the afternoon will be run, what is expected and how the results will help guide the strategy’s development.

Being part of this session gives you the chance to think about the impossible (think blue sky), generate new ideas/ approaches for ‘general surveillance’ in the marine environment and hear from/work with key specialist and organisation.

The Think Tank is just one of the ways the Biosecurity 2025 programme is working towards producing a national marine biosecurity strategy: a strategy that will play a major role in helping New Zealand create a strong, resilient and future proofed biosecurity system.

Here is what else you need to know:

  • Lunch will be served from 12.00-12.30
  • There will be an opportunity for networking at the end of the Think Tank

Please RSVP by Friday 2 November to attend the Think Tank and let Biosecurity New Zealand know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
