Seaweek at Goat Island Marine Discovery Centre

12 March 2015

Seaweek celebrations concluded with a lot of sparkle and a very lively lobster at Goat Island Marine Discovery Centre last weekend.

Faces were painted by the artisans from Happy Kids, fun activity sheets filled in and one lucky family had double the reason to celebrate with brothers Bennet and James Harrison coming first in their age groups for the Fishy Dress Up competition.

At the Feed the Fish and Invertebrates session, children and their parents delighted in listening to the presentation about the sea cucumber, star fish, kina, anemones and resident lobster from Visitor Centre Manager Marea Goode.

One hour’s drive from Auckland and a five minute walk down to Goat Island Marine reserve. Visit the Goat Island Marine Discovery Centre and learn about New Zealand’s unique marine environment – a great experience for all the family.
