Science subjects rate highly internationally

Science subjects at the University of Auckland are highly placed in this year’s QS World University Rankings with the University rated number one in the country in almost all subjects.

Geography and Mathematics both climb the rankings this year, Geography moving up eight places from 44 to 38 in the world.

Mathematics also moves up the rankings and into the top 100.

Also in the top 100 subjects among all universities at Auckland is Computer Science and Info Systems and Statistics and Operations Research.

Psychology at the University continues to be placed highly, coming in at number 29 internationally.

Of all departments at the University of Auckland, all but one are ranked first in New Zealand.

“This is a strong result and I’m extremely proud that the excellent teaching and research within science at the University is recognised internationally,” says Dean of Science at the University of Auckland Professor John Hosking.
