Dr Miro Erkintalo has been awarded the 2016 Hamilton Memorial Prize.

The annual award recognises early-career researchers for their scientific or technological research in New Zealand.

Miro, who is a lecturer in the Department of Physics, receives the prize for his ‘outstanding contributions to nonlinear optics and laser physics, and the unification of time-and frequency- domain models of optical frequency comb generation.’

“I’m very honoured to receive the Hamilton memorial prize, and extremely delighted to see our work recognised by the wider community. I’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing cast of academics and students, and I think that the Hamilton memorial prize is truly a testament to the world-class science we pursue as team.”
