What is ResBaz?

The 2018 Research Bazaar (ResBaz) is a three-day festival hosted by the University of Auckland’s Centre for eResearch and the eResearch community promoting digital literacy in modern research.

This annual event, held at several sites around the world at the same time, will help you master new research skills, while having fun. We want you curious; we want to surprise you and we want your help to build a supportive eResearch community.

When: 27-29 June 2018

Where: The Science Centre, 23 Symonds Street, City Campus, Auckland.

Cost: Free of charge BUT you must apply for a place and be accepted. Please note: Applications for attendance are now closed.

ResBaz aims to:

  • Kickstart a research training program in New Zealand to teach the digital skills required for cutting-edge research in the 21st century.
  • Facilitate collaboration between early career researchers (e.g. PhD students, post-docs, ECRs, research fellows) who aspire to work with other world-class researchers using next generation digital research tools.

Sessions and speakers

ResBaz offers a plethora of different sessions. Attend as many workshops as you can and learn about the IT skills that you need for obtaining amazing results in your research. Session topics include Python, Git, LaTeX, R, Safe Coding writing a data management plan, copyright and licensing and much more.

We are thrilled to be joined by guest speakers Harkanwal Singh, Dr Alys Clark and Associate Professor Minako O’Hagan.

More sessions, speakers and a detailed programme will be available soon. Keep up-to-date on ResBaz Auckland to find out more.

Attendance is by application only | Applications are now closed.

Spaces at this event are limited.

Your responses in our application form will help us ensure we select a cross-section of researchers to provide a diverse and successful event.

Registration does not guarantee a place at ResBaz 2018 - we will contact you to let you know if your application is successful.

If you're not offered a place there will be plenty of other eResearch activities and opportunities for you to participate in throughout the year.
