Biography

Leads and mages the School of Environment Technical Team, based in the City Campus 300 Sector (buildings 301 and 302).   Blair manages the technicians who look after school facilities (laboratories and workshops) which support teaching and research in the areas of Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, GIScience and Geography; as well as field activities.

The technical team operate and look after over 30 laboratories and workshops for the School of Environment.  Blair provides administration, guidance and ongoing development of health & safety systems relating to School activities, CapEx and OpEx purchasing, SciQuest purchasing, MPI Transitional Facility for quarantine imports, management of laboratories, workshops, fieldwork, vehicles and watercraft.  The School has eight technicians broadly covering the following areas; environmental chemistry, climate and geophysics, x-ray, palaeontolgy, geocartographics, sedimentology, coastal and hydrology processes, earth science processing.

Research | Current

National Environmental Monitoring Standard - Rainfall (V2) co-author.  Exposure and hemispherical photography for use in rainfall monitoring, site selection and data processing.
