- For students who already have an undergraduate degree but want to study Science subjects at undergraduate level.
- Can be used to extend a major field of study, to study a discipline other than your undergraduate major field of study or to study another discipline within the Faculty of Science.
- Choose from a wide range of subjects to suit your area of interest.
The Graduate Diploma in Science (GradDipSci) is a one-year (two semester) full-time programme that will enable you to specialise in a second major, if you have already completed a BSc. The huge range of subjects allows you to customise your degree, incorporating different areas of interest and expertise.

Depending on the subject major or specialisation being taken, a GradDipSci degree may involve:

120 points above Stage I, including at least 75 points above Stage II, selected from the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Master of Science Schedules, including:
- at least 45 points in a subject major as listed in the Bachelor of Science Schedule
or - at least 45 points from one of the following Bachelor of Science specialisations: Electronics and Computing, Environmental Science, Geophysics, Marine Science.
- at least 45 points in a subject major as listed in the Bachelor of Science Schedule
- A project or dissertation of up to 30 points may be included.
Entry into the Graduate Diploma in Science requires the completion of the requirements for for the degree of Bachelor of Science.

The Graduate Diploma in Science is devised to suit your new career direction, your past academic experience and learning needs. The diploma is an ideal opportunity to specialise at an advanced level in areas not included in your first degree or, if you have been away from study for a while, to learn about new developments in your original discipline.
