Whether you are trying to decide which degree is right for you or wanting someone to look through your first-year course choices, there are a number of places you can visit for assistance as well as publications you can refer to.
Your school careers adviser
If you are still at high school, you should make an appointment to see your careers adviser.
Student Recruitment and Course Advice Team (SRACA)
Visit our SRACA team at the Schools Partnership Office for guidance about which programme suits you, and for help with general planning for your undergraduate degree. The main role of the SRACA team is to visit schools in Auckland and throughout the country to inform students about all aspects of The University of Auckland including degree programmes, accommodation, scholarships, student life, and to give advice in choosing and planning a degree. If you are still at school, find out from your Careers Adviser when they are planning a visit to your school.

Science Faculty Student Centre
For specific undergraduate Science advice, visit our Student Advisers in the Science Student Centre. Located on the ground floor of Building 301 (across from the Main cafeteria), our Student Advisers are available to give general information on courses, programmes and specialisations in Science.

The University of Auckland Calendar
The calendar is the legal and official reference document of The University of Auckland. It sets out details of general University and programme-specific regulations and detailed course information. Students should refer to this to ensure they comply with all requirements. Reference copies are available in Faculty Offices and at the University's various libraries. It may also be purchased from major booksellers and the University Bookshop (UBS) from early November.
Faculty of Science Prospectus
The prospectus provides a comprehensive guide to prospective and first-year students with information on entry requirements, courses, career information and subject advisors. The prospectus is available on-line. Alternatively, copies may be obtained from the Faculty of Science Student Centre or the Student Information Centre, by calling 0800 61 62 63 or by emailing studentinfo@auckland.ac.nz.

Departmental handbooks
Each school or department within Science produces a comprehensive handbook that outlines, among other items, their subject(s) of speciality, programmes and courses offered, coursework detail, school or department protocol, and teaching and research facilities. It is invaluable for planning advanced-level (Stage II and above) study, departmental handbooks. Alternatively, please contact the school or department of interest or phone 0800 61 62 63.
