Pūkenga Pūtaiao - August (More information coming soon)

Pūkenga Pūtaiao is organised by the Faculty of Science to bring Māori and Pacific students together on an academic launch-pad to greatly increase opportunities for academic success, scholarships, employment, and further study.

At Pūkenga Pūtaiao you will:

  • Meet other Māori and Pacific Island students taking upper level undergraduate and early postgraduate papers across all the departments and schools in the Faculty of Science,
  • Learn how to increase the efficiency with which you pursue your studies and employment opportunities, and
  • Engage with career services and external organisations interested in contributing to your achievement in and outside of University.

Annual events

Tuākana CoMPaSs

Tuākana CoMPaSs is an orientation event for all first year Tuākana students in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics.

  • You will meet people who you can connect with throughout your University course.
  • You will also be given information about how to successfully structure your degree programme.
  • Free course books and food will be available. We have also invited guest speakers to inspire.
  • Family and supporters are welcome to join you for this informal and informative session.
