A PhD will provide you with the opportunity to make an original research contribution in the field of study of your choosing. This work must meet internationally recognised standards in that field.
You will be directed and supported by an appointed supervisor while engaged in your independent research study. The results of the research you carry out over the period of registration will be submitted as a thesis.

Entry into the PhD programme requires an Master of Science degree with first or second class Honours, or a relevant BSc(Hons) degree with first class or second class (Division 1) Honours from a recognised institution.
Academic and research career opportunities include teaching or lecturing, conducting postdoctoral research or working for employers in manufacturing or research roles.
